Joe Mathis
President

Joe MathisMr. Mathis comes to NANA Pacific with 20 years of experience in oilfield operations; business development; government, community and media relations; and management. His extensive experience and history in the Alaska market includes three years as CEO of the American Red Cross of Alaska, and 18 years with NANA Development Corporation (NRC), NANA Pacific’s parent company.

Prior to NANA Pacific, Mr. Mathis was CEO of the American Red Cross of Alaska.  In his short time there, he led the company to financial stability consolidated four state chapters into one cohesive group, raised awareness and cultivated community relations; all while providing aid as assigned for victims of Katrina and the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami. He arrived at the Red Cross after 18 years with NRC, having worked in several management-level positions focused on operations. These included being the NANA representative for the corporation’s numerous joint ventures and subsidiaries in oil and utility, transportation, and construction.


John T. Washington
Vice President

John WashingtonJohn Washington has more than 29 years of diverse experience and holds a Juris Doctorate and Masters Degree in Law. His financial management expertise includes serving as Chief of Resource Management responsible for budget, planning, programming and the execution of funds related to NGB Civil Support, Counter Drugs, and Homeland Defense. He has held numerous high level positions within the federal government regarding policy and procedures for the various Department of Defense and Homeland Security departments.

 


Howard Hankerson
Director of Business Development & Acquisitions

Howard HandersonHoward Hankerson provides support by offering more than 20 years of corporate experience in business and strategic partnership development and operations; contract administration; and compliance in federal, state and public arenas. Howard has been instrumental in assisting a number of large and small businesses navigate successfully in the government procurement process. Howard received a political appointment to the 21-member bipartisan Federal Glass Ceiling Commission created by Title II of the Civil Rights Act of 1991. He also serves as a director of several non-profit organizations.

 


Scott Dufaud
Director
Colorado Operations

Scott DufaudScott Dufaud is an experienced software professional with over 27 years of demonstrated leadership success. In charge of two multi-year IDIQ contracts totaling more than $203 million, Mr. Dufaud works closely with Nana Pacific’s joint venture partner to deliver deployable communications systems in support of governmental agencies and first responders for emergency response efforts. Mr. Dufaud has senior program management experience in DoD contracting, commercial software products and services and the Software Engineering Institute’s Capability Maturity Model Integrated. Mr. Dufaud also spent 20 years in the US Air Force managing mission-critical command and control efforts.


Rob Westphal
Site Manager

Colorado Operations

Rob WestphalRob Westphal, Site Manager of Colorado Operations, is an accomplished planner and manager recognized for the incorporation and communication of all aspects affecting the successful delivery of multi-million dollar projects. Mr. Westphal served a 29 year career in the US Air Force and was honored for his superior performance and technical experience. As a homeland defense and IT expert, he was commended for seamlessly managing the Air Force Year 2000 (Y2K) infrastructure program across 160 Air Force Bases. Mr. Westphal excels in start-ups, program leadership, contingency planning and emergency response management.


Jay C. Johnson
DirectorLogistics Development

Jay JohnsonJay Johnson has more than 10 years experience working on Department of Defense and Homeland Security projects. Mr. Johnson holds a B.S. in Project Management and an Executive MBA. He is a certified Project Management Professional, a retired Army officer and has 23 years experience in providing diverse logistics support for several major military commands, including Special Operations. Mr. Johnson has been the program manager for 65 projects with a total value in excess of $750 million. All projects were completed successfully, with total customer product satisfaction, on schedule and always at or below budget.


Scott Cornett
Director
Kentucky Operations

Richard Schnell Mr. Cornett has 22 years experience in purchasing, materials management, and management positions.  He has worked at the NGB Consequence Management Support Center in Lexington, Kentucky since 2005.  He coordinated the transfer of the Purchasing Office from the prior contractor to NANA Pacific.  He has extensive knowledge of FARs, the ability to organize and manage large amounts of information from a variety of sources, and long term personnel management experience.  He was responsible for establishing the successful procurement program that meets the GSA requirements for day-to-day and periodic tracking and reporting.   Mr. Cornett has extensive knowledge of overall operations at the NGB Consequence Management Support Center.  He was instrumental in creating and implementing the purchasing policies, practices, and procedures manual to assure all support center personnel engaged in purchase requisition, subcontracting or purchase order processes remain in compliance with each specific contract or purchase.
