Bulk Fuel Storage & Power Systems Upgrades

Client: Alaska Village Electrical Cooperative (AVEC)
Location: Several Communities in Rural Alaska
Status: On-going

Pre-CDR, CDR and detailed design for storage and system upgrades in the rural communities of Quinhagak, Scammon Bay, Shungnak, and Pilot Station.

The project involved assessing the feasibility and development of a plan for a Bulk Fuel Storage Facility and Power Systems Upgrades program for the four communities. Extensive research was done to properly consider (past, present and future) fuel storage and tank farm data, utility information, available resources, as well as demographic and geo-technical conditions into a feasible solution. NANA Pacific developed a plan that included prospective sites for a combined tank farm, a fuel distribution system, a heat recovery distribution system, new power plant, transmission tie-line, and wind
generators.
